Seeing a doctor in Korea without an interpreter? Understand your doctor and explain yourself in your own language.
You speak English, the doctor speaks Korean. Verata translates out loud and shows every sentence as text on the screen. After the visit you keep a summary: diagnosis, treatment and what to do next.
30 minutes free. No need to book an interpreter in advance. Made by 베라타 (Verata), a company in Korea.
Save the link or set a reminder for the day of your visit. Then open it, put the phone between you and the doctor and speak English.

What it looks like at the dentist
An example dental visit. The patient taps "Show this to the doctor", and the doctor sees an explanation in Korean. The patient speaks English, the doctor hears it in Korean and answers. The term "root canal treatment" comes from the dentistry glossary. At the end the patient gets a visit summary: the diagnosis, the treatment, a price of 150,000 won, the next appointment and what to do after the procedure.
No sign-up, right in your browser.
Read it, not only hear it
- Missed something? Read the doctor's sentence again on the screen.
- Something sounds odd? Ask the doctor again right there.
- After the visit the summary stays with you: diagnosis, medicines, date of the next visit.
Verata helps you talk with your doctor, but it does not replace a professional medical interpreter where one is required. Confirm important decisions about diagnosis and treatment with your doctor.
What an account gives you
- A glossary for your doctor’s specialty: cardiology, gynecology, pediatrics and 20+ more. Diagnoses, procedures and medicines are translated more accurately.
- The visit summary stays in your account, so you can come back to it.
- No cut-off every 15 minutes, as there is in the trial.
How it works
- Put your phone between you and the doctorOpen Verata and talk as you normally would. You in English, the doctor in Korean.
- Spoken and on screenVerata translates what you say and speaks it for the doctor, and the doctor sees on screen how you were understood.
- Medical glossariesGlossaries for each specialty: dentistry, plastic surgery, dermatology and more. Procedure and drug names come out right.
- A summary in your languageAfter the visit you get a summary in your language: what the doctor said, prices, recommendations and your next appointment.
The summary is a helper. Always check it against the doctor's own instructions.

What happens to the conversation
Your voice is not recorded. During the conversation, speech recognition and translation services (Soniox, Anthropic, Microsoft Azure, OpenAI) process the speech and text: they keep nothing and do not train their models on it. We keep the text for 30 days so you can come back to the history and the visit summary, then it is deleted. The clinic does not see it. Privacy policy
